Welcome to the prepress forums. I am thinking your disk and file system is not healthy. I have to recommend some maintenance first to be sure that this isn't a latent unhealthy file system. Please look at this document and be sure all your disk and file system maintenance is in good shape, see if this doesn't fix the issues. If doesn't fix it, post back and we can further troubleshoot Adobe Acrobat Distiller and figure it out.
