I have 3 Brisque 4.1 Rips here and am now upgrading to Brisque 5. We aren't done yet but will soon be able to render an opinion on Brisque 5. We impose CT/LW files in Preps, output to a Creo Trendsetter CTP. However, I have fed and worked with virtually every kind of rip at one time or another over the years.
As for imposition, we just went from Preps 4.2 on OS 9 to Preps 5 on OS X. The guys LOVE it. But, I'm not sure it really does much new besides being OS X and faster. Not sure what else is really new there. At any rate, based on the reviews of my imposers and platemakers, they love it compared to Preps 4.2. For imposition there really is no other imposition program as powerful and standard as preps. No matter what you do, preps is the answer there.
For a Rip, I would say i need to know what kind of work you do there. Scitex Brisque strength is trapping, always has been. Do you do any Hi-Fi color, up to how many PMS?, lots of . . . .
