You should be able to open a PDF directly in Illustrator without the intermediate step of saving as EPS. If you wish to convert to CMYK without leaving Acrobat, try PitStop Professional from Enfocus. It has a lot of tools for editing and fixing PDFs. It's not cheap, but I use it daily in my prepress department and it has paid for itself many times over. - Read More at This Link..
